after intently watching allyson felix win the 200m, simon yelled out, “good job!” and when she hugged another runner, he said, “aww, that’s nice.” such a smooshy hearted kid.

we decided on the paint color for the office and found it at a price we can live with :)

we also decided to go with the same style fan that is in the kitchen...on each side of the room

simon and nonni discussing his starbucks shirt from aunt devon before the concert
just sent simon off to a concert with nonni & poppi. he was very excited…he hummed rossini all during dinner. (of course) just as they were beyond the sound of my cry for help, i discovered that eden had a diaper that exploded all over the house (quasi-literally). this type of thing never happened with simon. we also didn’t have a grave fear of finding simon hanging from the ceiling fans like we do with eden. (literally).
so, i’m trying new ways to produce the pictures (hundreds and hundreds of pictures) from family events and random acts of cuteness that we capture every year. in this example, a movie poster seemed to fit the bill. this one is modeled after the 2006 movie: driving lessons.

my little man will soon be 3. he is his father’s son in so many regards. i pray his sweetness is rooted deep. he’s recently been telling his little sister and his mommy when they look “pretty.” and when he saw a picture of eden and me today, his comment was “aw, so nice!” lol
last night, his aunt devon got to witness his overt friendliness as he says “hi!” to everyone he meets…especially children, who get a special “hi, kids!”
his little lisp makes translation a bit tricky sometimes. one word that had been baffling us for weeks was: “coledahbie.” we figured it was something from daycare but had no idea what it might be. today i solved the mystery!! his teacher, rachel (a.k.a. “cheechu”) explained that it was “Cole Duffy.” i guess he’s a tad more formal with his good buddy, cole.

the wall is framed. the tile is here. next is the wiring. we now have to get a building permit because of the outside door. but we’re making progress.
