well, daycare was a rip roaring success…at least for simon. he managed to skip his nap and play, play, play. i walked in and he was sitting with the owner, zonked out cold. she figured, when she saw him walking across the floor sideways, it was time for a break. i have never seen him so worn out! he stayed asleep until we pulled into the garage. then, he awoke rejunivated and ready to play some more. he really seemed happy! we’ll see how he reacts to going back tomorrow.
simon is off to daycare today. he’ll be fine. mommy, on the other hand, is touch and go at the moment. he loves to interact with other kids, so we knew it was time to let him go experience a world of interactive play that doesn’t revolve around mommy & daddy (although i think we’re pretty fun to play with).
he had a brief moment of panic when he realized we were headed out the door, but when kevin peeped into the window from outside, he was already re-engrossed in play.
simon, ready for his first day @ daycare
we took a quick trip down to see jen, jim & princess ari.
simon loved pushing her shopping cart around.

Nonni and Poppi are in Seattle for Easter, so we have reclaimed our dog for the time being.
Daisy’s a country girl at heart…and we apparently bore her.

Yesterday Kevin drove N & P to BWI, while Simon and I spent the day together. We discovered that looking at each other with our heads tilted sideways while eating cereal is very, very funny! We also dyed eggs for Simon to hunt on Easter. All-in-all a very productive day!

as i was soaking in my vanilla & blackberry white tea bubble bath, surrounded by all the animals from the ark - placed carefully by nimble toddler hands, two things occurred to me: one - next house, i will have my own bathroom; and two - i have come entirely too close to taking for granted the things in my life that many, many people would consider a luxury.
i have a beautiful, healthy, happy boy who will have all the opportunities to fill his life with joy and meaning. i have a husband who can spend every waking moment teaching and guiding our little boy into manhood. i can skip the daily commute and spend more quality time with my family. i can let my imagination run wild as i create a mural in our new baby’s room because i own those walls.
it’s so easy to peek through the neighbors fence and covet their lush green grass, while overlooking my own rolling piece of lawn. each bump and divot is creating me to be the woman God wants me to be. He has granted me innumerable blessings and only asks in return that i find my contentment in Him.
It was warm today. Warm enough for a walk in the evening.

It will turn colder by Wednesday, so we enjoyed the warm-er evening temperature.
Yesterday was Adria’s baby shower at church. It was a fun time, with lots and lots of yummy food. She & Howard will have THE best dressed baby girl. On the invitations, Thelma and Debbie suggested children’s books instead of a card - so they are starting out with quite a nice library.
